The ministry's most ardent critic, Dr Nicholas Kelly, General Counsel of the Reich Information Policy Review Board was found dead in the woods last weekend after committing suicide by first tying his hands behind his back then impaling himself on a 12-inch knife whilst simultaneously shooting himself in the back of the head.

There has to be a way to turn updates on the Homehub off, but I'm bleemed if I can find it. They seem to think they own me, but I think they are going to be horribly surprised.
I don't want to change ISP, but I bluddy well will if they force this onto me.-

What ISP could one change to? any idea. I'm thinking of renting some private server space with email facilities completely within my own control, but it would still need an ISP for my home broadband connection.

"My firewall allowed it to be installed but refused it access to the internet."
Aha! Brilliant!!!
Munzly

I have just had an automatic update downloaded on my BT internet connection that attempted to install the spyware that's part of the Phorm outrage. My firewall allowed it to be installed but refused it access to the internet. It also wanted to load IE and tell me about it but I never use IE, particularly as BT corrupted it at an earlier date and added BT browser functions. So I don't know what it was going to tell me, I assume it was this much vaunted Op-Out, but even that puts a cookie on your computer, which I refuse to have.
I have set Firefox to refuse cookies from Phorm, so hopefully my connection will not cooperate with the bastards!
