Whenever they are confronted with this fact, Phorm start ranting on about how the data is "anonymised", ignoring altogether that if they are doing things with it, then the data has already been intercepted, which is the illegal part of the whole scam.
There are quite a few ways you can protest about this crime, and probably the best is to complain to your MP, your MEP, and any Lords you feel might be able to understand what a crime is. To do that, you can use They Work For You, an excellent site that will email them for you. Keep it polite, that works best.
