The Register reports...

Sprawling on the GMTV sofa, Brown described cannabis as lethal. He said: "I have always been worried about cannabis, with this new skunk, this more lethal part of cannabis... But the report has just come to us, we will look at it and we will publish our results very soon... But I think people know my view about cannabis and particularly about this lethal version of it, skunk."

Where does this idiot get his imbecilic opinions? Does he not even know what a simple word, lethal, means?

Lethal: Capable of causing death.

The simple fact is that no matter what kind of cannabis you were to use, you would have a very hard time causing a death with it. Perhaps if you dropped several kilos of it onto somebody from a plane... Maybe if a truck with two tons of hash on the back ran over somebody...

Reading through the rest of the Register's article, it is clear that either the man is mad, drunk or perhaps both. He is certainly not fit to take part in democratic government, let alone to be allowed to order everyone around without any kind of debate at all. Watch out, because he is going to try.

Gordon Brown is a nasty piece of work. We thought Blair couldn't be any worse than the Tories but he was. We were sure Brown couldn't be any worse than Tony. Looks like we were wrong there too.

I have heard of these deadly skunks before and they do sound like a bit of a worry but I have not seen one yet and if they do come around here I think my friend Nick will keep them away with his catapult that he fires ice-cubes at the squirrels with.

  I don't think the skunks are really deadly at all, Bun. They can smell very nasty, but nobody has ever been killed by a skunk.

And politicians wonder why voter apathy is at such high levels?

Instead of tinkering with the voting system to make it easier to vote fraudulently, how about MPs reforming themselves so they are honest, knowledgeable of what they speak, and getting their snouts out of the trough, living on incomes more commensurate with those of their constituents?

Stupid idea. I know, let's have voter choice, so we can go to any polling station we want to on production of a new UK ID card.

  I think MPs should be randomly selected from a pool of people who have passed some sort of intelligence test, and paid well enough not to need any outside income. A bit like a higher form of jury service...

    Funnily enough, we discussed much the same thing over tea the other night - except we decided a common-sense test would be more valuable than intelligence - since that former quality is sadly lacking in most legislation.
    
    OTOH, if MPs had to have another job to eat, they couldn't spend so much time poking their noses into our daily lives and coming up with ever more stupid laws. Perhaps a day a week in the chamber - and presto, 80% decrease in new laws. I think we have enough already.

      Of course, "some sort of intelligence test" could include a common sense test.
      
      Swift's horses, can't remember how to spell their name, had a law that no law could contain more words than there were letters in their alphabet. That could be good...

        Houyhnms - and how clever they were. Most horses I know are pretty stupid - a bit like politicians come to think of it - but horses are nicer to look at in general, and the crap they produce is at least useful on the garden.

        Houyhnhnms, actually. The extra "hn" probably adds something subtle to the meaning, if one is equine. I found time to look it up, after the school run, some cleaning, and the like...
        
        I don't know any horses, but my Dad told me that if I should ever encounter such a thing as a gift horse, I should open its mouth and look very very carefully at its teeth.

Our Prime Mentalist, Mr Gordon McRuin is neither 'mad, bad' sad or psycologically flawed'. He is just suffering from 'Big-shotism', and delusions of grandeur. After all, he start to say.... "We ahve saved the World...!" and no doubt that is what he believes in.

After all those who beleive in their own righteousness, do not accept good advice very well, and McRuin is typical of this type of character.

He badgered Teflon Blair for many a year so he too could become Prime Mentalist in his turn. Lets just hope that in May - June 2010, all this will be sept away. Maybe, assuming if he has not done a Farmer Bob Mugabe and voted himself in as Dear Leader for life.

Prime Muppet Pa McRuin Broone has had his vast ego smoozzed by President Obama at the G20 Summit. McRuin was smiling like a virginal schoolboy out on his first date at the school prom. He will be insufferable for some weeks until the reality of Politics and fades, and the reality of life kicks in.

McRuin could still be looking at leadership contest, assuming there is somebody in the ZanuLab Partie has the gonads to do this. But it is doubtfull. McRuin will be the 'Great Dear, Dear Lieder' until May 2010, when hopfully he and his stazi halfwits are kicked of into the dark recesses of history.

Maybe he will try and postpone elections because he does not want to face what he must already know - that he's a toss-pot and a looser.

But Psssst - dont tell anybody as some Kommie Muppet in Neues Libore might just suggest this to McRuin. Remember don't walk alone down lonely country lanes.....!!

I'm sure he has an invisible friend whom he talks to. Maybe its his Domestic Goblin called Dobey borrowed from 'Hogwarts'!

  I think you are right about all those things...
  
  The trouble is, "Call me Dave" is just a waste of space, and the Tories will just carry on doing what Blair carried on doing for them, so unless we get a hung parliament (nearly as good as a hanged one) and the Lib Dems get to join in, we are just as stuffed after the election as we are now.
