I am Banned by the Daily Mail!

I sent a comment on their article about Sharia law being demanded by idiotic lawyers, while there were no comments, at about nine this morning. Just had a look, and lots of other comments, but not mine.

This is good, I will be able to force my daughter to marry her cousin so that I can collect the dowry.

That's roughly what it said. Other comments, such as this one, complete with a spurious apostrophe, were permitted by the Daily Mail Censors...

Yet more proof, if it was needed that the legal system and it's members are out of touch with the VAST majority of UK citizens.

I have to say, it feels like a great honour to be persona non grata at such a sleazy rag.

Well done, I thought been banned by the Lucky Charms website was a feat...but hot damns I am impressed by yours a hell of a lot more

I've sent letters to newspapers and never had one printed...HLOL...not sure I consider myself among the honoured, but would if I'd bothered to send one to the Daily Mail...

  I used to write to newspapers years ago, but this was an online comment. It's not quite as strange as the BBC, who say "Have your say" but put the comments somewhere else that I can never find, instead of at the end of the article...

I've had them and other online papers reject my comments a number of times. I've learned not to take it too personally. 1. They sometimes have a quota on comments, 2. Sometimes you just get missed in the pile, or 3. My comment is probably too long.

Or, they just don't like what I have to say.

In America, they'll print anyone's comments, as long as the person isn't making a personal attack, being racist or using rude language.

I've noticed Brit papers--at least online, are a lot more narrow and arbitrary with how they post comments. Not sure why, but I'm guessing it's probably something to do with a petty power trip on the part of editors, and their inability to procure enough Viagra.

  Oh dear me no, I'm not taking it personally. It's just annoying that their vetting lets through such arrant tripe, but they reject a properly spelled, grammatically correct remark, probably to avoid offending the jerks I was trying to offend. Oops, what a givaway...

    Take heart - I have been in the same position with the Sunday Times/The Times online. Lots of grammatically incorrect comments, some airing the same views but less colourfully, but never mine. Perhaps it's just 'lottery'.
